Director, Sales

Summary: We are seeking a passionate and talented Director for our Sales Department, with extensive leadership experience and a proven track record of working successfully in a challenging and commercially driven sales culture. Reporting to the Vice President, Sales, you will provide leadership and direction to a team of sales and sales support professionals to meet all objectives including customer retention, incremental sales revenue, customer satisfaction and market penetration.

Responsibilities: You will be responsible for market segment planning, territory planning, account planning, solution selling and TAS. You will also: 

  • Recruit, develop, motivate and retain a team of skilled sales professionals as well as coach for continuous high performance
  • Be responsible for a broad territory with a large number of accounts in their respective market segment
  • Work in existing accounts as well as orchestrate the acquisition of new accounts
  • Proactively manage market segment budget to best achieve strategic business objectives
  • Develop and manage internal and external relationships
  • Develop and deliver accurate revenue forecasts
  • Analyze market research to evaluate ongoing product/market requirements


Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to sell and/or lead the sale of complex products to an existing and/or new customer base in a competitive marketplace
  • Strong fiscal management skills, business judgment and analytical abilities
  • Prior success managing budgets and exceeding sales quotas through a team of sales professionals
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Prior experience in mentoring, coaching and/or performance management to achieve goals and objectives in a competitive environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • 5+ years of sales management experience (an asset)
