Account Executive, Small Legal Market

Summary: We are seeking a passionate and talented Account Executive for our Sales Department, with a proven track record of working successfully in a challenging and commercially driven sales culture. Reporting to the Sales Director, you will acquire and grow revenue in new sources through sales of LexisNexis® products and solutions in an assigned territory or industry-specific market segment via expert strategic deployment of resources. You will spearhead the penetration of LexisNexis solutions through the enterprise within your assigned territory or industry-specific vertical.
 
Responsibilities:  You will:

  • Develop and implement sales strategy plans
  • Develop key contacts and business relationships
  • Assess customer needs and maintain corresponding intelligence
  • Manage customer issues
  • Negotiate pricing and contracts to close the sale
  • Meet and exceed revenue targets
  • Analyze market research to evaluate ongoing product/market requirements and drive new business
  • Acquire knowledge of internal and competitive offerings for all products, pricing and solutions
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the field through participation in professional development and educational programs

 
Qualifications:

  • 4 to 6 years’ proven sales experience in a similar selling environment
  • B.Sc. or B.A. in business or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Proven ability to sell and close the sale
  • Strong business judgment and analytical abilities especially with respect to target forecasting
  • Familiarity with our market segments (legal, corporate, government and academic)
  • Ability to quickly develop an in-depth understanding of LexisNexis products and solutions and how they apply to our customers’ needs
  • Understanding of professional research methods
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to successfully network both internally and externally
  • Results-oriented team-player
  • Excellent time management and strong computer skills
  • Bilingual and knowledge of Siebel (assets)
